Born 1948. Studied at National College of Art and Design, Dublin, under the late Henry Healy RHA, Desmond Carrick RHA and John Coyle RHA. He studied portraiture under the late Richard Free at his studio in Temple Bar.

Fergal has painted widely abroad. His two visits to Kenya in the early ’90 resultedin his first one man exhibition in 1992. His Spanish exhibition in 1993 followed several visits to Southern Spain. In 2003 he went round the world resulting in his solo show in Kilcock Art gallery- ‘holoholo’-an Antipodean and Polynesian Journey.

His painting of “Little Killary” was selected for the National Irish Bank calender in1996.

Fergal is a committee member of the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club. He is aalso a tutor at the Burren Painting School in Lisdoonvarna.

Annual exhibitor at Wexford Opera Festival. From 1985 has exhibited in the annual exhibitions of : Oireachtas, Royal Hibernian Academy and the Royal Ulster Academy.
