Aidan Harte

Aidan Harte comes to sculpture after a career as an animator and illustrator. In 2007 he directed Skunk Fu, a children’s television show shown across the world, winning an IFTA award, and a BAFTA nomination last year. In 2008 he studied classical sculptor in the Florence Academy of Art. Since his return to Ireland this year he has been working in an expressionist style. "

"Dante obsessed me when I studied sculpture in Italy.

The Inferno contains a world of characters, but I chose to sculpt only those which spoke to my life.

Each piece relates to a verse, recreating Dante’s journey in Hell.

This collection of figurative expressionist art represents the culmination of ideas that have inspired me as long as I have been an artist."
