The charming Arsenale of Venice will host the exhibition dedicated to the 110 finalists of the 5th International Art Laguna Prize, which has become an annual event of relevance to the contemporary art world, thanks to the high quality of the works, attention to young talents and continuous search of collaborations with the business world.
During the gala of the 12th March there will be the awarding of the winners of the five categories Painting, Sculpture, Photographic Art, Video Art and Performance, in addition to the proclamation of the 37 winners of the personal exhibitions in Italian and foreign galleries, Special Awards Tina B., Open, Scuola del Vetro Abate Zanetti, Art Stays, Museo Carlo Zauli and the Prize “Business for Art” by Reil.
The works of the 110 finalists will be exposed at Nappe of the Arsenale of Venice, until 22nd March 2011, with a layout designed in every detail to create a unique atmosphere in which Art is the only protagonist. At the same time, the selection of the best artists under 25 will be exhibited at the Institute of Rumanian Culture and Humanistic Research in Venice, in the historic Palazzo Correr situated in Campo Santa Fosca, a splendid example of Venetian architecture of the fifteenth century.

Chris Atkins will be leaving Co.Wicklow on Monday 17th Jan to take up artist in residence on the Island of Upernavik off the coast of North West Greenland in the Arctic circle.
